Skin type
Normal to dry skin. Strokes heal crisp when your skin is not oily.
Routine
You fill in sparse spots most mornings, or you would like to stop.
Look
Soft, separate hair strokes with natural texture.

What to expect, start to finish.

Your first visit takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Most of that is measuring and making sure you love the shape.

  1. 1

    Health screen.

Rachel reviews your health history and medications, and talks through the look you want.

  2. 2

    Numbing.

A topical numbing cream goes on while you settle in. Most people feel light scratching, not pain.

  3. 3

    Measuring and mapping.

She measures your face and draws the shape on your skin. Nothing is tattooed until you say it looks right.

  4. 4

    Hair strokes.

Rachel draws each stroke by hand with a fine blade and builds color in thin layers. This part takes about an hour.

  5. 5

    Aftercare.

You go home with written aftercare and a balm. You can text Rachel with any question while you heal.

  6. 6

    Touch-up.

You come back 6 to 10 weeks later so she can fill any spots that healed light. It is included in your price.

Fresh and healed.

Text Rachel first

  • Your brow skin is oily or has large pores. Powder or hybrid brows usually heal better for you.
  • You are pregnant. Rachel does not tattoo during pregnancy. If you are breastfeeding, bring a note from your doctor.
  • You have taken Accutane in the last 12 months.
  • You are in an active autoimmune flare. Wait until it settles, then text Rachel.
  • You had a chemical peel, laser or microneedling on the area recently.
  • You scar with raised keloids. Text Rachel first so she can give you an honest answer.

Microblading questions.

How long does microblading last?

Microblading usually lasts 12 to 18 months before it needs a color refresh. Oily skin, sun and retinol make it fade faster.

Will microblading look fake?

It should not. Rachel maps the shape to your bone structure and matches the color to your hair and skin tone, so the result looks like your own brows on a good day.

Can I get microblading if I have oily skin?

Strokes tend to blur on oily skin as they heal. If your skin is oily, Rachel will likely suggest ombré powder or hybrid brows instead.
